David Sheldrick’s Elephant Orphanage
Located near Nairobi National Park, this renowned rescue center cares for orphaned elephant calves and rhinos affected by poaching. With dedicated caregivers acting as surrogate mothers, the young elephants are nurtured before being reintroduced into Tsavo’s wild herds. Between 11:00 am and 12:00 pm, visitors can witness the calves being bathed, fed, and exercised, offering a touching experience.
Giraffe Center – Close Encounters with Rothschild’s Giraffes
This conservation center was established to protect the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe, found only in East Africa’s grasslands. The initiative began with two giraffes, Daisy and Marlon, leading to a successful breeding program that now ensures over 300 giraffes thrive in Kenya’s national parks. Guests have a rare opportunity to interact with and feed the giraffes while learning about conservation efforts.
Mamba Village – A Crocodile & Wildlife Experience
Located 13 km from Nairobi, Mamba Village is a crocodile farm home to over 70 Nile crocodiles, along with Masai ostriches, horses, and tortoises. The village also offers hospitality facilities, including restaurants where visitors can enjoy lunch while soaking in the serene environment.
Bomas of Kenya – A Celebration of Culture & Heritage
Experience the rich diversity of Kenya’s traditional music and dance at Bomas of Kenya. With over 50 performances from different ethnic communities, live percussion, string, and wind instruments, and vibrant dance routines, this showcase takes you on a journey through Kenya’s past and present.
